Texans sure know how to have a good time. They also know where to go for the best food. With festivals occurring throughout the year, Houston, Texas, is one of the finest locations for food tastings. Because of Texas’ melting pot of cultures, food festivals offer great insights and new experiences. The fun, friendly atmosphere of these events is what the Texas spirit is all about. Texans love to share and welcome people into their culture. Sharing traditions, foods, and customs is how newer generations can remember and understand their roots.

Tamale Festival Houston
Friday, December 5 at 4:00 pm – Saturday, December 6 at 7 pm
During Tamale Festival Houston, pop-up restaurants spring forth from the earth to serve Tex-Mex foods, including Texas barbecue from local pit masters and, of course, tamales. Celebrating Houston’s diverse culture, the two-day event will also showcase non-edible talents with arts and crafts booths, live shows, and musical performances ranging from rock and country to R&B and tejano. Amidst all the action, a tamale-eating contest will determine the festival’s hungriest attendee, and a Best Tamale competition will crown the city’s top tamales based on their superior flavors.
Texas offers events practically all year around so chances are you can find a few awesome festivals every month to attend. Having such great, local, unique, and diverse functions help Texans experience new cultures.
